The Merc's Scott Herhold sends props to the SJPD beat officers for their work investigating the killing of a transient by fire a few weeks back. Herhold obviously boned up on his Netflix during the holidays by providing context for the police work by using "The Wire" references. Let's hope the similarities between the (corrupt) Baltimore PD and the SJPD end with this comparison... lest anyone face the same fate as McNulty...

Our friends in north County swore-in a new Mayor (Pat Burt) and Vice Mayor (Sid Espinosa) in Palo Alto. Congrats all around... it still baffles Watch Dog that folks would want to sit through the endless meetings in Palo Alto, but more power to those that do.
